Milestones

An International Communication Infrastructure for prduction site Facilities (Data Centers)

1997 - 1999

Med-1 corporation was established in 1997 and became a pioneer in the international communications infrastructure in Israel. The company has initiated and established the underwater cable named "heart", which was among the first five private underground cables in the world. In early 1999 the cable has been put for commercial use and enabled connectivity between Israel and the rest of the world in high volume and quality levels

2000

The project's success paved the way for Israel to continue bringing the gospel of broadband. At that time formed a larger group, "Med Group" which included, inter alia, the MED NAUTILUS, which was jointly owned with TELECOM ITALY, one of the world's largest communications companies.
The group completed another pioneering project and established a nationwide optical network using subsidiary Med NET. The purpose of the system was to set up a vertical and horizontal optical backbone which will provide communications operators needs and businesses with a large and stable bandwidth requirement.
The first phase of the network included the marine system (IC-1 (Israel Coastline One - two optical rings linking the coastal towns - from Nahariya in the north through Haifa, Netanya, Herzliya, Tel - Aviv, Rishon-Lezion and Ashkelon in the south. The IC-1 system was activated for the first time in September 2000.
The second phase of the network included the mainland system – an optical network throughout the length and width of Israel connecting the major cities, industrial zones and technological parks

2001

in light of the success of the "Heart" cable project and the increase in demand for bandwidth, the group initiated an ambitious project first of its kind - underwater cable system, Med Nautilus - a sub-marine optical fiber ring configuration combined with fiber-optic transport system. The system connects the State of Israel and several European countries and has an unusual survival potential bandwidth (3.84 Tbps).
Meanwhile, Med-1 has completed construction of underground telecom facilities (Data Centers) at Tirat Caramel and Petach - Tikva, in favor of hosting network infrastructure for end-user equipment and to provide quality hosting and business continuity services to its customers.

2005

In a transaction between its shareholders, the international operation was separated from other company activities, thus the company Med-1 IC1 continued to run and market the domestic network and telecom facilities ownership and activities of the international transmission system infrastructure were available through Med Nautilus Israel (wholly owned by Telecom Italia).

2006

In accordance with changes in the local telecommunications market Med-1 decided to focus and deepen its expertise in hospitality and backup services using its prduction site facilities that possessed and sold the domestic network of communication activity Med-1 IC1 to Partner communication
